The Drug Research Centre aims to develop innovative medication for treating cancer and inflammation by launching high-stakes projects leading to the creation of potential start-ups.

“We want to stimulate creativity and innovation and let new ideas prosper!” explains its director, Sylviane Muller, who wants to see competitive basic scientific research while letting society benefit from the concrete consequences of these innovations.

Sylviane Muller is a renowned scientist who, amongst other things, discovered and patented a molecule capable of correcting the immune deficiencies of the autoimmune disease systemic lupus erythematosus, for which there is currently no specific treatment. She was awarded the CNRS Innovation Medal 2015, a prestigious distinction reserved for exceptional research leading to innovations that have a huge impact on technological, therapeutic and societal levels.
